A unix process no 1
minit is a possible first process the kernel starts
to use minit as system init, first read available documentation in /usr/share/doc/minit and then add the parameter init=/sbin/minit to your kernel command line.
lilo users need to add it to the append="something" option in /etc/lilo.conf,
grub users can just append it to their "kernel image options" lines.
minit will by default do nothing except starting the minit service defined in /etc/minit/default which usually contains a file named depends specifying which services are to be started at bootup.
minit was written by Felix von Leitner and can be downloaded from his page at http://www.fefe.de/minit/
This manpage was written by Erich Schubert <[email protected]> for the Debian GNU/Linux operating system.
